In a social media statement regarding the meeting, Minister Kurum wrote: “We hosted the Australian Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Mr. Chris Bowen, and his delegation at our Ministry. We reaffirmed our country's determination to host COP31, our logistical readiness for this responsibility, and our unique capacity to serve as a bridge between developed and developing nations." Türkiye possesses significant experience, expertise, and a clear vision regarding the green transition and climate action. In this context, we look forward to working in close cooperation with Australia and WEOG (Western European and Others Group) countries during our COP31 Presidency. I would like to thank my esteemed counterpart and his delegation for their visit."
