The launch event for the Project on “Strengthening the National Climate Finance Capacity,” spearheaded by the Directorate of Climate Change, took place in Ankara.

The opening address was delivered by the Deputy Director of Climate Change, Mehrali Ecer, at an event widely attended by delegates from governmental organizations, regulatory and supervisory authorities, the financial sector, international organizations, development and investment banks, academia, and non-governmental organizations.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Director Ecer emphasized the strategic importance of climate finance in Türkiye's green transition pipeline. He underscored the critical need to bolster financial capacity to meet the country's 2053 Net Zero Emission Target, while highlighting the urgency of effectively mobilizing both public and private sector resources.

Backed by the European Union, the project plays a vital role in building a shared understanding of climate finance in Türkiye, enhancing stakeholder cooperation, and streamlining the implementation of climate investments.

Ultimately, the project aims to reinforce Türkiye's overall financial capacity to meet its core climate change mitigation and adaptation targets.
