Prof. Halil Hasar, Director of Climate Change, met with Ole Thonke, Denmark’s Climate Ambassador, and Ole Toft, Danish Ambassador to Türkiye.

Speaking during an online meeting regarding COP31, Director Hasar indicated that COP31, which will be hosted by Türkiye, is built upon dialogue, consensus, and action. Director Hasar drew attention to the importance of the consultations conducted for COP31 and noted that the legacy of COP30 would be carried forward into COP31. Director Hasar indicated that COP31 is built upon dialogue, consensus, and action. The Copenhagen Climate Ministerial, held annually every May in Denmark’s capital, was also among the topics addressed during the meeting.

While it was noted that the Copenhagen Climate Ministerial would address critical roadmaps, coal phase-out, private sector engagement, and adaptation finance, the Ambassadors emphasized the importance they place on the Action Agenda and stakeholder participation, while noting that they consider the continuation of technical discussions to be essential.
