A delegation from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine and the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine conducted an official visit to Türkiye to exchange expertise on greenhouse gas emissions.
Under the coordination of the Directorate, a comprehensive three-day briefing program was organized for the visiting officials from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine and the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine.
The program was structured as follows:
The first day, chaired by Volkan Polat, Head of the Monitoring of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Department, featured technical presentations on the monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) of greenhouse gas emissions. The briefings also covered the planned implementation of the National Emission Trading System and Taxonomy, alongside the regulatory framework for fluorinated greenhouse gases in Türkiye.
On the second day, the delegation conducted a technical site visit to the Şişecam Flat Glass production facility in Polatlı, Ankara.
Following an on-site inspection of the industrial processes, a specialized presentation was delivered detailing the specific verification stages required for the facility’s greenhouse gas emission reports.
The final day of the visit focused on the institutional framework for quality assurance, where the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) briefed the delegation on the national accreditation processes and standards for greenhouse gas emission verification.
